Funding a lifelong promise

Contributions are collective. Care is individual. Commitment is lifelong.

A Legacy Contribution supports the shared people, facilities, relationships, and financial capacity needed to stand behind every accepted cat for life.

Starting point

$12,500 begins the Legacy Contribution conversation.

That amount is a starting contribution, not a ceiling and not a prepaid care price. A larger gift strengthens collective program capacity but does not buy a higher standard of care. Each enrolled cat receives care based on individual need.

No individual balance

  • Not escrow
  • Not a prepaid declining balance
  • Not an individual reserve
  • No ‘remaining funds’ that limit care
  • Care does not stop after theoretical exhaustion

Eleven funding lanes

Current and future giving can work together.

A Guardian may use one lane or stack several. Any future-gift documentation should be coordinated with the signed program agreement and reviewed by the Guardian’s professional advisors.

01

Current Legacy Contribution

A present gift beginning at $12,500.

02

Larger current contribution

$25,000, $50,000, $100,000+, or another amount—without creating care tiers.

03

Fund over time

Recurring contributions documented as part of an accepted funding plan.

04

Stacked giving

Combine a current contribution with one or more future gifts.

05

Life insurance

Name Cats in the City Rescue DBA Feline Transitions through appropriate policy documentation.

06

POD or TOD designation

Use a payable-on-death or transfer-on-death designation where available.

07

Retirement or investment designation

Document an appropriate beneficiary designation with professional advice.

08

Trust

Coordinate a trust provision with the Lifetime Care agreement.

09

Will or estate bequest

Include a specific, percentage, or residuary bequest.

10

Sponsored or subsidized enrollment

Limited support may be available through separately approved charitable resources.

11

Lifetime Residency

An individually underwritten designation within Lifetime Care, supported by an appropriate legacy plan.

Distance and residency

Additional obligation is assessed honestly, without inventing a price list.

Distance assessment

Geography can increase coordination, transport, escort, temporary-care, documentation, and contingency obligations. The Team evaluates those factors for the individual enrollment. No national geographic amounts are final until the modeling and governing documents are approved.

Lifetime Residency

Residency is a designated pathway inside Lifetime Care, not the program’s default promise. It requires individual underwriting, available capacity, an accepted care setting, and a suitable legacy plan.

Professional coordination

Your legal and financial documents must work together.

Feline Transitions does not provide legal, tax, accounting, insurance, or investment advice. Ask your attorney, CPA, financial advisor, or insurance professional to review beneficiary language and coordinate it with the Lifetime Care agreement. Cats in the City Rescue will confirm its current legal name and gift instructions before documents are finalized.
