Plain-language definitions for terms used across the program, agreements, and portal.
Guardian: the current person responsible for the cat. Participant: a person enrolled in or applying to the program. Caregiver: a person providing care. Successor caregiver: a person reviewed and documented to receive a future placement. Path A: planning and coordination. Lifetime Residency: a separately underwritten and accepted care setting.
Activation: a reported event that triggers review of the accepted response. Trustee: the person administering trust property. Trust enforcer: a person authorized to enforce a pet trust. Personal representative: the fiduciary administering an estate. Placement agreement: the record of an accepted transfer and care relationship.
Beneficiary designation: an institution’s controlling direction for an account or policy. Restricted gift: a gift subject to an enforceable accepted restriction. Collective contribution: support for shared program capacity, not an individual balance. Verification: staff confirmation that a submitted record supports the plan. Care plan: the current practical record for daily and medical care.
Program boundary
Public guidance helps people prepare and coordinate. It does not itself create custody, ownership, placement, residency, fiduciary authority, restricted use, or an emergency-response obligation.
