Version 1.0 · September 18, 2026 · Pending governing-body approval
1. Separate underwriting and written acceptance
Path B is not activated by an inquiry, planning payment, contribution discussion, or document upload. Feline Transitions evaluates the cat’s needs, care setting, transition risks, geography, available caregivers, funding plan, and responsible program capacity. Acceptance exists only in an express written agreement signed by authorized parties.
2. Collective program funding
Legacy Contributions and other approved funding support the collective Lifetime Care Program. They may support planning, emergency response, transport, placement, veterinary care, monitoring, administration, reserves, and care for accepted cats according to program priorities.
A contribution is not an individual escrow account, prepaid-care balance, trust account for one cat, or declining personal ledger. A larger contribution does not purchase a different standard of care, and care is not capped by an amount attributed to an enrollment.
3. Funding lanes
Funding may include current gifts, scheduled contributions, life-insurance proceeds, beneficiary designations, POD or TOD arrangements, retirement-account designations, trusts, wills, restricted gifts accepted in writing, and other lawful sources approved by the program. Estate and financial instruments should be prepared or reviewed by the participant’s own attorney or financial institution.
4. Capacity and reserves
Enrollment depends on responsible capacity, not merely available funds. Feline Transitions maintains a controlled capacity schedule, may reserve places for urgent accepted cases, and may pause or decline new acceptance when safe care cannot be supported. Capacity limits may change prospectively after documented operational and governing review.
5. Restrictions and contingencies
Any enforceable restriction must be expressly accepted in writing. Feline Transitions may decline a restriction that conflicts with animal welfare, law, practical care, collective administration, or the signed program agreement. Care settings and service providers may change when safety, availability, veterinary judgment, or the cat’s needs require a different arrangement.
6. No professional advice
This disclosure is general program information, not legal, tax, investment, fiduciary, insurance, or estate-planning advice. Participants should coordinate their documents with qualified professionals and give Feline Transitions only the records needed to administer an accepted plan.
